Drain Relining – The No-Dig Technology
Drain relining can be a more convenient and cost-effective way of repairing drains other than conventional excavation. At Draincall we have been relining drains for nearly 20 years.
It is used to repair drains which have perhaps been damaged by root intrusion, joint movement and cracking caused by expansion and cracking. Drain relining can be used to repair entire runs from manhole to manhole or patch lining to cover open joints or holes. We can also reline drains under any surface. Relining drains provides a long-lasting watertight seal to the pipework.

The Benefit of Relining Drains
A CCTV survey will identify the possible need and feasibility for drain relining. The benefits of relining drains over digging up and replacing it are quite considerable. More often than not there is no excavation. (Sometimes a small excavation is required for access into the pipework.) This avoids digging up the garden/patio/driveway to expose the pipework. It is quicker. There is less disruption, it is convenient, and it is more cost-effective. The end result is a sound, watertight drain.
The Process of Relining Drains
Drain relining is always proceeded by inserting a camera down the drain, to ensure there are no roots – if there are any roots, then we carry out root cutting. Any debris is removed and to check the drain is clear to make sure there will be no issue with the felt. Then we insert a very thin, resin impregnated felt liner into the existing drain. After a period of time this cures and hardens leaving a new drain within the old, covering any cracks or holes that were causing issues. Job done and your property left as we found it.

As mentioned above it is not always possible to reline drains but if it is an option it is the one we will recommend. If you are experiencing issues with your drains it is important that you get them checked out. Common causes of issues with drains that lead to the possibility of requiring drain relining are not always avoidable. Roots and joint movement, both of these can cause long term damage to foundations with water going to ground. At Draincall we are more than happy to be of service to you and certainly keep your drains free-flowing.
